![]() Most likely, the first complete attempt still won't be fast enough but one attempt won't take that long. Of course, saving often also helps a lot since you don't want a reload to waste several minutes. Of course, difficult situations still might take a few attempts but there's usually more than enough time to spare. And after playing through the game once, it should be fairly easy to handle any simple situations with just a few guards. Since I already played the level a few times just now, I already knew how to handle all the difficult situations and since I planned out my route, I didn't have to spend time thinking about where to go. And in most cases, it's much better to choose a route that is easy and doesn't require many retries than one that is a bit faster. The important things are where to go (and sometimes in which order) and which events/tips/objectives to use in levels where there's a choice. There's no need to plan out every detail. Then, I just opened the level again and took a bit of time to plan the route for the speedrun, just looking at the level and using my experience so far as help. For each level, I first completed all the remaining normal badges which generally took another one or two playthroughs.Īt this point, I was already quite familiar with the level after having tried a few routes and playing through the central parts multiple times. I went through each level one at a time completing all the badges and the speedrun before moving on to the next. Then I took a bit of a break until I decided I wanted to complete all badges. You also aren't familiar with the mechanics yet, so every time a new character or mechanic comes up, you first have to understand how it works, how it might be useful, how it interacts with all the other skills, etc.īack when I did it, I first played through the whole game normally. ![]() This means you will need to spend a lot of time just observing, thinking about what you want to do and where you want to go, and most importantly, trying stuff out and reloading a bunch. ![]() On your first playthrough, you don't know anything about the map layout, what and where the objectives and enemies are, and how to solve the tricky situations. It has been quite a while since I did it but I don't think I took longer than a few hours for any level. I also took several hours the first time playing each level but I still didn't have any issues completing any of the speedruns and it also didn't take me that long. We are working on getting that patch out, but it will still take time.Īny projected date on the fix? Last badge left for me.The first playthrough is something completely different than a pre-planned speedrun. So you can see, sadly it isn't so easy to just fix stuff like that :(. On the bright side: Once that patch ships it should fix most problems AND give a huge boost to loading times for example :) We are already down to only a few seconds of quickloading on consoles, so for most PCs with an SSD etc it will be almost instant. We already have something in mind here but it makes things a little more complicated, as you can imagine :) So we need to figure something out here as well to communicate these problems and find solutions. ![]() This would of course piss them off if it just happened automatically. would not be lost, but people would have to restart their currrent mission. Pushing this patch will also mean, that quicksaves etc are lost for everyone who updates. So it needs to be tested thoroughly and until the console version is done (which it is very, very soon <3) we couldn't start with this testing, since things might change. That means we cant just push a quick PC-hotfix to change these issues, since making a new build of the game with all those changes without testing it enough could create problems. What this means, though is that lots of stuff has been going on under the hood of the game. The big problem here is that we have been working on the console version of the game for the last months.ĭoing this we made a lot of performance improvements etc. It is already fixed internally, like many of the other bugs.
